Our consultant colleague Ms Mhairi Collie, previous recipient of the Queen’s Birthday Honours List has published a novel based on her experiences treating women in Africa. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bright-Fabric-Life-Mhairi-Collie/dp/0956527833 Ms Mhairi Collie, our colorectal consultant surgeon, was previously awarded Officer of of the Order of the British Empire in this year's Queen's Birthday Honours.This is a recognition of her extraordinary work to offer treatment for socially stigmatising fistula in Uganda. Many women suffer from fistula after traumatic child birth in sub-Saharan Africa which often leads to them been ostracised.
