A springboard to progress into specialist training Our department offer 6 months placement as part of the General Surgery programme in East of Scotland (covering South East, North and East of Scotland Regions). The postholder will be covering duties appropriate at the level in preparation for progression into specialist training: oncalls, ward duties and take part in both emergency and elective theatre lists. There will be opportunities to perform common general surgical procedures as operator under supervision (eg incision and drainage of abscess, inguinal hernia, umbilical hernia, appendicectomy, laparotomy) and assisting in major colorectal resectional surgeries.
