The core of specialty training in colorectal surgery There are 6 ST posts and one advanced fellow training post in the department. The rota is made up to a 1:10 with input from 2 breast trainees, and 2 hospital funded fellows. The STs have an average of 2 days in main theatre per week, plus clinic, endoscopy and day cases weekly. They run the twice daily business ward rounds, with daily input from the consultants. After being on call, the ST presents the M&M cases to the department.. All lists are suitable for trainees to learn, in part or in full and it is expected that all trainees will have a very full logbook after a stint in the department.
