Trained in psychology, Harini Dharanikota is a PhD researcher interested in the dynamics of team cognition and decision-making in healthcare. She has been based at the Surgical Sabermetrics Laboratory (SaberLab) since 2022, supported by funding from the Melville Trust for the Care and Cure of Cancer.

Her research employs mixed methods to examine the cognitive and collaborative processes during multidisciplinary team (MDT) treatment planning for cancer care in Scotland. The goal of her work is to generate actionable, human factors-informed insights to reduce bias, inequity, inefficiencies and errors in patient care.
