Rahul Velineni

Mr Velineni was appointed as a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at Royal Infirmary in 2021 and is active within all areas of vascular surgery with particular interests in renal access, lower extremity salvage, carotid disease, aortic disease and venous disease.

Appointments and Activities

Mr Velineni graduated from St George’s Hospital Medical School in London and undertook core surgical training in Exeter moving to Scotland for higher surgical training in Vascular Surgery with the final year undertaken in Edinburgh. A period of research was undertaken at Imperial College London supervised by Alun Davies and Manj Gohel culminating with the award of a PhD in venous disease basic science.

After a short period of working in Lanarkshire as a Consultant Vascular Surgeon, Mr Velineni was delighted to return back to Edinburgh to take his current post in the Edinburgh Vascular Service.

He is a tutor on the ChM in Vascular Surgery, supervisor of medical students and educational supervisor to trainees in Vascular Surgery.
