Mr Jamieson’s clinical practice encompasses the complete range of arterial and venous surgery. He is involved in open and endovascular aortic aneurysm repair including complex aneurysm disease, treatment of aorto-iliac and infra-inguinal occlusive disease, treatment for venous insufficiency and vascular access for renal dialysis. He has a particular interest in the application of endovascular and minimally invasive techniques together with surgical training and teaching. After studying in Oxford for two years he submitted his research MChir degree to Cambridge, prior to returning to Edinburgh for higher surgical training. In addition to general surgical and 4 years of dedicated Vascular Surgery training in Edinburgh Russell undertook a Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Vascular and Endovascular training fellowship in St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney. From 2014 to 2017 Mr Jamieson was a Consultant Vascular Surgeon in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he was active in all areas of vascular surgery with a particular interest in minimally invasive endovascular interventions with dedicated endovascular lists within the interventional radiology suite. He delivered medical student education in Aberdeen and ran a tutorial programme for the vascular surgery registrars. A tutor for the Cardiovascular Module of the Edinburgh Surgical Sciences Qualification, he developed, and remains a module leader for, the Vascular and Endovascular ChM Aneurysm Module running over 15 weeks.
