Appointment and activities

Lachlan is a general surgery resident with an interest in surgical education and training innovation. His clinical training has been throughout Scotland and is focussed on his subspecialist interest in colorectal surgery. Lachlan’s educational practice has led to involvement on national committees, course faculty positions and experience in curriculum development and simulation. His research interests are improving training outcomes and maximising potential through data-driven surgery and enhancing surgical rotation experience at an undergraduate level. Currently, Lachlan is an NHS Lothian Medical Education Fellow and a PhD student at the University of Edinburgh, working in the Surgical Sabermetrics Laboratory, under the supervision of Professor Steven Yule.
