Clinical Interests

Mr Neades has a particular interest in all breast diseases but, in particular, reconstructive surgery.

Appointments and Activities

He was appointed to his present post in 1996 and was granted Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer status in 2000.

Since his appointment he has been responsible for establishing outreach clinics at Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline. A breast unit has been constructed and now a full breast diagnostic and surgical service is available outwith Edinburgh.

He is involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate training and is a member of the Basic Surgical Training Committee and the Higher Surgical Training Committee. In addition he has an interest in quality assurance and acts as an assessor for NHS Quality Improvement Scotland and also for the Scottish Collegiate Board for Standards and Training in Surgery.

Mr Neades is a graduate of Aberdeen University and undertook the majority of his postgraduate training in Glasgow and at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
