Dr Tufail-Hanif is the Deputy Programme Director for the ChM in Vascular & Endovascular Surgery, an online postgraduate programme delivered in partnership between the University of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. The programme launched in the same year that Vascular Surgery became a surgical specialty in the UK and aligned with the ICSP curriculum for Vascular Surgery training. She was also Academic Lead for the ChM in Urology until 2020. Dr Tufail-Hanif completed both her undergraduate and postdoctoral degrees at the University of Edinburgh. Her Cancer Research UK funded PhD was undertaken in the Centre for Inflammation Research where she investigated a novel group of compounds with anti-cancer activity against small cell lung cancer. Prior to joining the Department of Clinical Surgery, Dr Tufail-Hanif was involved in teaching undergraduate MBChB students in Edinburgh Medical School as an Associate Teacher.
