Appointments and Activities 

Susan joined the department of Clinical Surgery in 2020 to lead delivery of year 1 and 2 of the Surgical Sciences programme. Since her appointment in 2020, Susan has lead the development and delivery of an alternative to the Surgical Sciences year 3 Dissertation course (Evidence Based Surgery) and the development and delivery of the Surgical Writing and Evidence Based Surgery programme.

Susan’s current activities include:

Susan completed her undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the University of Edinburgh, with a BSc in Pharmacology and a PhD in Molecular Biology. Prior to joining Clinical Surgery, Susan spent over 15 years working in clinical and applied health research with Astra, Napp, Quintiles and the University of Edinburgh. She has also worked as an NHS midwife and as a lecturer during a 3 year stay in the US.
